it is my pleasure to get to play the opening set for D Henry Fenton, who has been living in the US for the last few years and has come back to Australia for a little whirlwind tour.
Fenton has opened for acts including John Mayer, Kasey Chambers, Colbie Caillat, Lissie and Morphine. His last album “Turnin’” was recorded with engineer/producer Steve Holroyd (Counting Crows/Tom Petty) and received some positive US college radio airplay, with a few bigger stations (including KBAC, Santa Fe NM) adding the title track to their playlists.
The Merri Creek Tavern holds about 40 people comfortably, so this will be a very intimate set. The venue is run by Mick Thomas and Mark (Clanger) and offers local beer and wine, good service, and minimal sound bleed, pumping music from the back bar to the front bar, so that no DJ comes in to dominate the rooms when the singer is quiet.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Christmas at the Swamp!

Girl Friday's folk, jazz and blues sensibility evokes a sense of nostalgia, innocence and melancholy.
