Bendigo Blues Tram

  • Central Deborah Gold Mine 76 Violet Street Bendigo, VIC, 3550 Australia (map)

Bendigo Blues Tram- Buy yourself a ticket on a vintage tram and escape for a couple of hours into a world of good company, world watching, tram riding and music. Phil and Trudy Edgely and Mandy Connell each play a set while you ride around enjoying the sights of Bendigo. A truly excellent day out- and you can pair it with a train from Melbourne!

What’s better than burning your planner and throwing your laptop out the window? Nothing! But a trainride is a close second. Bring your headphones, a book, or a notebook. Or just gaze out the window and look at the suburbs as they go rolling by, some parts on show, some parts not thought of. Like you’re looking over someone’s private back fence. Actually sometimes YOU ARE looking over someone’s private back fence. Its the best kind of reverie and it’s cheap and sometimes FREE

Connell’s arresting presence is what stands out. Singer and guitarist, she is popular for her writing, and loved for her stagecraft with a passion for soft ballads offset by a love of blues and dance music. A songwriter with a guitar, Connell has an edge more reminiscent of Margaret Roadknight or Norma Waterson than of Kate Bush or Joni Mitchell.  Her interests are varied, and as an artist she is hard to place within a genre other than that nebulous ‘Folk’ label…. Connell’s career is as diverse as her show is dynamic.

Phil & Trudy Edgeley
Phil and Trudy Edgeley are both singers, songwriters and multi-instrumentalists who encapsulate the dynamics of a great partnership on both a musical and a personal level.

Phil Edgeley's (Weissenborn, Acoustic, Resophonic Guitars/Vocals) British folk/roots style infuse with Trudy Edgeley's (Acoustic Guitar/Ukelele/Peruvian Drum/Vocals) haunting vocals, tropical tempos & tribal beats of her rich cultural background, to create well crafted songs that have the added interest of fascinating stories which have been seldom told.

Throw in a little humour and interaction with the audience and the result is a show that draws the listener into a new and exciting place.
